* Our + Day!

As promised I am here to share our pretty uneventful Valentine's Day. February has already been a very busy month of celebration and there is so much more to come!!

So.... with that in mind we took Vday easy and treated it pretty much like it was just another day- really, we did.

Except... I may or may not have infused breakfast with a little bit of Valentine's day cheer....

annnd to make breakfast even better we enjoyed it at the new house WITH my "valentine's" tulips as our centerpiece.

We spent the rest of the day moving a few things into the new house and then spent dinner at home- on the menu were stuffed shells, yummm! We didn't have any room for dessert- we ended up waaaay too stuffed {haha pun intended}.

To end the night we ended up watching a combination of Family Guy and the Winter Olympics {figure skating} with a couple glasses of wine.

There ya have it- Happy Valentine's Day to us!

But first- How about you?
What did you do to make this a special day with your favorite one?

* Movie Date Night

As mentioned over on the wedding blog while Aaron was busy celebrating
a night of: "WahOooo I'm getting married!" @ the Heron,
Melissa and I had our own date and headed out to see a movie.
We were both pretty excited to see Valentine's Day. I give this movie an A! It was really cute, very sweet and pretty funny! With the long list of A list actors a few of my favorites included Jessica Biel, Ashton Kutcher, Julia Roberts and Bradley Cooper- and so many more...

This movie also is from the same director of Pretty Woman annnnd I have a Fun Fact shared by Aaron. He heard {undoubtedly from KFAN} that Julia Roberts made, roughly, $8,000/second during this movie. She didn't have a HUGE part in the movie but for when she was on screen she was paid plenty and it works out to be approx $8K per every single second, must be rough...

If you LOVED Pretty Woman {Lana...} you have to see this one as well-

You will love it, I promise.

So many funny scenes- it's one of those great movies where everything and most everyone is in some way connected. You spend {at least I know I did} a lot of time throughout the movie predicted and figuring out the various connections, I just love it when I am right too!

Go see it this weekend!
Also, I think it's safe to say that the boys will even like this one too!
Favorite line from the movie:
Bradley Cooper asks: "Are you on facebook?"

* A lesson in Love

**Another post dedicated to Love Week**
Today as Aaron and I were walking into the Home Depot to buy our last quart of paint... I was excited to walk him past the cart of Tulips!! Yes I was plotting, planning and scheming ;)

Ok so why the big deal?! Well, Aaron is not one to surprise me with flowers very much, hardly ever actually. He's your guy that says "What's so great about flowers- all they do is die!"

Likely story right?? {please tell me there are others out there getting this same old line!!??? anyone.... please!}

Anyway, back to my story and what this has to do with Tulips... and the Home Depot and my scheming: I told Aaron that flowers are a nice surprise gift to give someone... flowers are pretty and you {GUY} buy pretty things for the one you think is pretty {ME}. hahaha

This was yet another "Andrea" theory that he wasn't buying too much into.

So we went about browsing the shelves and me dragging my feet we picking up our one quart of Behr's Sage Gray, a free paint stick and a variety of mouse traps {for the new house, ick! I know- I'll save that for another post}.
Moments later we were walking to the front of the store and OH what do you know... to the right (just about to the registers) we spot the Tulips, and we circle them... and I slow the pace of walking... and I eye the tulips.... and I may even have {for a second} put a pout face on {or something close to}... and I say "Ooohhh, see... these are pretty!" and so we did another circle and this time with Tulips in arms! hehehe, Aaron insisted on picking the ones HE wanted because HE was buying- he then stomped to the registers I skipping- ok that's an exaggeration!
I think my lesson in love
{buy pretty things for your pretty one}
went well today.

I was happy- my pretty tulips put a pretty smile on my face!Aaron, on other hand, was a bit confused... he wasn't too sure about how he got roped into buying flowers for ME on HIS birthday AND it's not even Valentine's Day!
p.s. don't get Aaron started on Valentines-
that's a whole different can of worms!

* Tuesday Tenies: wk 2

WARNING: It's "love week" so why not attribute a gushy, corny & barfy post about my one and only- Aaron {Aa}!?

There are other reasons as to why I have landed upon Aaron being my subject for this weeks Tuesday Ten{ies} as well!

Here- I will now name three on those reasons:
  1. This week Aaron will be celebrating his 28th Birthday!
  2. In just one week we will be Mr. & Mrs. Aaron Sonnek!
  3. Valentine's Day is right around the corner- so there is no better time than now to share 10 things that I love about Aaron!
OK- so I originally wanted to post a collage of 10 really great Aaron photos- but as I was searching through my picture files I came across an all time favorite and said- "That's it- my search is done, this will be the ONLY picture!"

It's both a great and perfect photo because soon we will be back on the beach and he will be striking a pose much like this one very very soon- Aaron flexing for the camera?? OBVEE!!!

I love Aaron because:
  1. Aaron loves to have fun! {i.e. flexing for the camera, 98% of the time!}
  2. Aaron makes me laugh almost daily! {He can also make most anyone around him laugh as well!}
  3. Aaron can talk to anyone about ANYTHING {something that I will never be able to do!}
  4. Aaron knows what I am thinking... {and most of the time it's my crazy thoughts}
  5. Aaron will drive when it's raining or snowing {puts my fear of driving in bad weather at ease every time}
  6. Aaron will sit and watch The Real Housewives of OC and Desperate Housewives pretending to be interested and listening to the words {and we all know it's NOT because he likes the show... might as well put the show on mute!}
  7. Aaron can make/create ANYTHING {He's pretty creative- we're a match made in heaven in this department}
  8. Aaron is neat and organized when I can't be and/or don't know how {i.e. the car/truck & the garage}
  9. Aaron loves and values time spent with family and friends {this is very important to the both of us!}
  10. And finally, Aaron thinks that I am a nerd {this is good because he is ALSO a nerd, the only difference being that he is a really BIG nerd!}

* Mobile Upload

Yesterday Aaron and I spent the 2nd half of our day at the new house- we are STILL painting!

We spent this round of painting in the kitchen. Along with the appliances, paint has helped with the look of things... but the kitchen has a long ways to go! Luckily all we have is time from here on out.

Here's a mobile upload {I forgot my digital camera back at the townhouse} so it's not the best quality, sorry! I will be sure to add more pictures later.

On to the bedroom- the last main room for paint

{at least for a little while}.

* Tuesday Tenies: wk 1

Oh my... I am a day behind on this! I actually had every intention to get this posted last night but the chair downstairs was waaaaay to comfy and I realized at 2:45am that I had fallen asleep in front of the fireplace- so anyway..... here I am today {wednesday} with my Tuesday Ten{ies} post!

This week I have traveling on the brain {hmmmm I wonder why?} so in order to get something out there quick I thought I would list 10 places that I would love to visit someday!

In no particular order:

  1. New Zealand {ok well, actually, maybe NZ really is at the top of my list!! ;) }
  2. Paris {specifically the Eiffel Tower}
  3. California {seems so dreamy}
  4. Washington {was there in 2009 but would LOVE to go back with Aaron}
  5. Florida {my most favorite state- want to get back to AMI}
  6. Holland {they have tulips there right!?}
  7. Canada {anywhere that is pretty!}
  8. An East Coast State {more specifically the NorthEast Coast}
  9. New York's Times Square {to see the lights, a show & some window shopping}
  10. Las Vegas Strip {to see all the pretty lights... can you believe we've never been!}

* First Things First

This weekend while I was away having fun... Aaron was hard at work- with the help of many of his great friends/family {Paul, Ambrose, Dan, Randy, Buxton & Aaron Thomas}.

Friday & Saturday the guys spent a lot of time getting the appliances to fit and in working shape- I must say they do look nice and have improved the look of our kitchen already! You can even see a little sneak peek of the kitchen paint color; Grasshopper Wing by, Behr.
Sunday they got right to it and started painting!! It's amazing what a coat or two of paint will do to the look of a house- we {and everyone else} are amazed at the transformation that these walls have taken already!
HUGE thank you to Thomas for stopping by to spend the day painting- what great help and what a great job he did!! Ambrose even spent time painting, we hear that this is a rare occasion so I didn't want the camera to miss it!
Sunday Mom, Kay & I were able to give a helping hand in starting to change the look of our entry way- since this is the first entry point of our home for guests, this might be something we want to give a little extra TLC to right away. We spent the afternoon stripping away {what we think to be} the original 70's green/white, fuzzy, textured wallpaper...
We will be at the house each night that we can this week to finish painting what we can of upstairs. Gma & Gpa stopped by yesterday for a visit as well- Gpa said he has a few ladders that we can borrow to reach the high spots- we may swing on down to Hampton tomorrow afternoon to take up his offer!
More & More projects & updates to be featured later!
