* Easter 2012

So... I thought it would be a good idea to FINALLY share our Easter fun! It was Avrie's 1st Easter so I can't just let this slide.

We started out the day with bunny ears! haha- these were a fun little prop used all thoughout the day. Avrie didn't mind wearing them and neither did mommy & grandpa Paul, as you can plainly see in the photos. In the morning we woke up to Avrie's Easter basket, left out by the Easter bunny that was filled with tons of goodies!

{p.s. the photo of Avrie next to her basket was taken at the end of the day- which is why she looks sooooo sleepy!}

After a fun "bunny ears" morning we got ready for the day, putting Avrie into her gorgeous yellow dress that Grandma Kay bought for her! I pulled a "Jayme B" and whipped up a custom headband to match her dress- I was impressed with how long it lasted but let me just say that by the end of the day- it's in the repair shop!

We started out with brunch at Mick & Bob's- we had Prime Rib and many other delicious sides! yum. I mainly snacked on fruits and veggies, as I was saving my appetite for Ham & Cheesy Potato dinner over at Mom & Paul's. After our visit with the Paine's we headed back home to get Tiki, reload the car with goodies for dinner and then we were on our way for the second half of our day.

While prepping for dinner, the boys {Aaron and Paul} dyed Easter eggs. As always they had more fun than most normal adults would. They have a good time bashing one another with hidden secret messages on the eggs in white crayon- only to be read after the egg has been colored boys...

I did, however, get to do a few eggs. One of which I drew a heart around the letters, AV or baby girl and then three "crackle eggs" that I had found on pinterest. The simple steps were as follows: place hard boiled eggs with the shells cracked into boiling, colored water- let them sit for a few minutes, remove, cool and peel. I thought they turned out pretty cool!

Just before we sat down for dinner, I put the finishing touches on my "bunny bread sticks" {again found on pinterest} I made whipped cinnamon honey butter for their "fluffy tails". The girls thought they were cute- I don't think the boys were really getting just how cute they really were, but oh well!

After dinner, we all enjoyed some "bunny bait" {again found on pinterest}. Easiest sweet/salty treat ever made! I will be adding this one to my cookbook and making it often! You may even find the 'how to' on my blog someday- and if not just find it in on my pin board! haha

All in all Easter 2012 {Avrie's 1st Easter} was pretty fun- it was a relaxing day with some time spent away from home but then again close enough for us to enjoy a little time at home as a family. I am excited for Avrie to get to an age where finding eggs and egg hunts will be a grand event!
